Sepia Saturday #208: Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree

Sorry I'm late, but too many things have conspired to make this an infamous holiday season. Not the least of which is that I'm sick in bed with the flu!

Merry Christmas from the Davison Ladies of old,

and the Mortensen Marrieds of today:

  2. And now, on December 26th, a Happy St. Stephen's Day to you and your loved ones. Saul was a bad boy a long time ago (he was responsible for Stephen's death) but he got over his bad ways and eventually became a saint himself, St. Paul.

  3. I can relate to the holiday flu, as 15 years ago on Christmas-New Years week all the adults (4) in our small family came down with severe flu, leaving one child, my son age 8, the only healthy person to appreciate what Christmas there was. All holidays are now measured against that traumatic experience. I hope that the new year brings you respite and good cheer.

  6. I was afraid I was sick before Christmas -- even went to the doctor to be sure (and I don't go to the doctor unless I've been planning my own funeral for a couple days). Turns out it was just allergies. YAY. Hope you're better now. Happy New Year!

  7. Best wishes for a quick recovery. But you remind me I need to get my annual flu shot soon! Years ago when our son was 4 1/2 & one daughter, just over a year, we headed south to my folks' on Christmas Eve. An hour & a half into the drive, son came down sick with what we commonly refer to as the stomach flu. (a misnomer, but oh well) So we turned around & came home - by which time he seemed to be completely recovered. An hour later, however, yours truly became ill so it was a good thing we'd turned around. And on Christmas Day, bless his heart, while I nibbled on soda crackers & jello, my husband roasted a turkey & fixed all the trimmings so the rest of them could have a true Christmas dinner. What a guy!!! Anyway, hope you're well on the mend now & have a good New Year.

    1. Gail, my advice to you would be to plan to get your shot way ahead of all those family gatherings
since the vaccine needs time to evolve in your system and properly give you immunity.
      Next year then!!
      Happy new year!!
      :)~

  9. "Acadianeire's Heritage" has been included in the A Sunday Drive for this week. Be assured that I hope this helps to point even more new visitors in your direction.
